Christmas Opening Hours

In the run up to Christmas, Sherwood will be open as normal up to the 22nd of December. 

Following the 22nd we will be closed on the following days, with limited access to emails and phone calls;

 25/12/17 – Closed

26/12/17 – Closed

27/12/17  – Closed

28/12/17 – 10:00am – 14:00pm

29/12/17 – Closed

01/01/18 – Closed

Our offices will open again as normal from the 2nd of January, 2018 (from 08:00am). Over the festive period we ask that any current temporary workers who need to contact us do so via our info email address; 

If you need to submit a timesheet during this period please send this to your normal contact at Sherwood.

Kier Performance Up

In a trading update ahead of the company’s annual general meeting, the Kier board reported all round good progress. The Property division is performing well, delivering a return on capital in excess of 20% on an increasing capital base. The mixed tenure and private housebuilding businesses continue to make good progress. Both the construction division and the services division had booked more than 95% of their targeted revenue for the financial year.

Severfield Profits Up

For the six months to 30th September 2017 Severfield reported revenue up 16% to £137.1m (2016: £118.2m) and pre-tax profit up 55% to £11.5m.

Severfield worked on more than 80 live projects during the six-month period, including four large projects in London, each of which have project revenues in excess of £20m. These are the new stadium for Tottenham Hotspur FC, the retractable roof for Wimbledon No1 Court, a new commercial tower at 22 Bishopsgate.

Payroll Reform is Coming!

Chancellor Philip Hammond signalled in his autumn budget that new rules were being prepared for off-payroll workers in the private sector

Although there were no major changes in the budget itself around engaging off-payroll workers, two consultations signalled that change is coming. The government has indicated that it will look at off-payroll workers in the private sector and specifically those employees who are engaged via personal services companies.
